Winter
Winter is a time of rest in the Garden but on the farm, the work continues. There is the usual clean up from the growing season just past, equipment maintenance and the odd tree fall that can now be cleaned up. But there is now time for some of those bigger projects that will enhance the seasons to come.
The Greenhouse
The greenhouse will be a welcomed addition to the farm. It will allow us to grow quality starts for the garden and to produce bedding plants that will be sold at the market.
Store Rehab
The "store" is actually an old Texaco gas station that served the area in the 1930's and 40''s. It was a stop for the bus that ran between Louisville and Cincinnati before interstates and the Halfway Inn restaurant was added later. We hope to have it looking like it did in its heyday selling homegrown fruits and vegetables.
Hoop house
This Spring we will build a 20.x40' hoop house in the garden which will help to lengthen our growing season. If it works as planned more hoop houses are planned.
